FAIRER PROJECT
FOOTBALL AGAINST RADICAL BEHAVIOUR
Supported by UEFA
About FAIRER
The FAIRER project intends to address radicalisation through sport, particularly football, by developing, testing and validating guidelines for football stakeholders aimed at preventing youth radicalisation. FAIRER will have a duration of 36 months and will provide a methodology which will be freely accessible to all European citizens and also beyond Europe.
Identify shared and standardized guidelines in the fight against radicalisation.
Guidelines
Provide centrality to football and to football fans as promoters of non-radicalised behaviour.
Centrality
Favour positive attitudinal and behavioural change with the aim of preventing radicalisation through football.
Change
Create collaborative and active networks including football federations and clubs, national institutions and relevant associations (e.g. fans’ associations and NGOs) aiming at preventing radicalisation.
Collaborative networks
Make football associations’ role central in the prevention against radicalisation as well as an important vector for social inclusiveness and integration.
Integration
Promote a culture of active engagement against radicalization among football stakeholders.
Engagement
The main aim of the FAIRER project is to use sport and specifically football to fight radicalization among the football environment as well as at the society level.
With an approach of active prevention, FAIRER combines several priorities: fighting radicalization through sport and enhance the perception of sport as a vector of social integration and education.
